Laser Hair Removal
Wedding Season
Cosmetic Procedures Including Botox, Restylane, Microdermabrasion and more
Come on, we’ve all done it. You’re at a red light and you glance into the rearview mirror….”Oh my g-d, where did those hairs on my chin come from!… I never noticed that big pimple…boy, do I need to get my eyebrows waxed…look at those crow’s feet!” (Okay, I personally never said that to myself, but I’ve heard it from enough of my female patients).
So what’s the quickest, most effective, least painful and cheapest way to get rid of the flaws you find in your rearview mirror? Number one is laser hair removal. After just two to three treatments you may never be bothered by unwanted facial hair again. The approximate cost to zap the hairs from your chin or lip line is about $200 per treatment. Of course, you can also use laser hair removal to get rid of unwanted underarm, bikini, legs, and back hair as well.
Botox Injections can get rid of your fine lines and crow’s feet. You’ve heard it before, it’s my mantra. There is nothing like Botox to very easily, safely and inexpensively get rid of fine lines around and between your eyes and on your forehead.
Waxing? I’ll leave that to the beauty salons. Turkey neck, however, is a condition we plastic surgeons can help rid. Treatments range from the most invasive (best result) which is a mini-facelift to the least invasive (moderate result) Thermage, to a few choices in between, such as Polaris Wrinkle Reduction or a Threadlift. My word of caution is….be careful and let the buyer beware…if the treatment seems too good to be true, then it probably is! For most women (or men) over the age of 50, there is no better, more effective treatment for turkey neck than a traditional facelift.
What else do we see in the rearview mirror? Acne? Rosacea? Sun damaged skin? Brown spots? A great, effective at-home skin maintenance program is a must for every individual. I believe that no amount of money spent at the cosmetics counter will replace the products or advice you receive from a medical esthetician at a plastic surgeon’s office.
Skin care products, in my opinion, can and do work, as long as you purchase them correctly. I highly recommend the Obagi Nu-Derm System, the Niadyne system, or Skinceuticals, depending upon your skin’s condition. Every person over the age of 25 should be using Vitamin-C anti-oxidant drops for their face. (It’s like coffee for your skin, making it look perky and refreshed).
Many products can help keep your skin youthful. I have seen women of all ages obtain excellent results through an easy, effective at-home skin maintenance program.
Remember, beauty does not happen by chance, but by choice. So choose wisely, and reap the rewards.
