On June 8th, I addressed a large group on the south shore of Long Island, discussing both surgical and non-surgical ways to preserve or improve physical appearance. I often schedule seminars and events both in the Woodbury, Long Island office, as well as various off-site venues. My off-site events provide a friendly atmosphere for patients and potential patients to not only learn about the latest advances in cosmetic surgery from me directly, but to share their experiences with each other as well.
My talk last week included a discussion about how to distinguish reality from fantasy. Sometimes patients see something they admire on a celebrity or a model and they want to have that same look. The reality is that isn’t always what is best because everybody has a different structural foundation. What I prefer is to discuss with each individual patient what they would like to enhance, and then show them their personalized plan for a natural and effective result.
Many attendees were curious about all of the options available for facial enhancement, including eye lifts and face-lifts. The eyelids are often the telling sign of a person’s age! As we get older, we begin to develop drooping or “puffy” eyelids. This process starts in the 30’s and 40’s and progresses with the aging process. I continue to develop procedures that are less invasive and offer a natural result with less downtime.
