Lip Augmentation Can Restore Lost Volume
We often see patients who have developed thin or wrinkled lips as a result of the aging process, and would like to restore a more youthful appearance. Lip augmentation at our Long Island practice consistently provides beautiful results using dermal fillers, or fat transfer procedures. This relatively simple procedure can increase lip volume and reduce the occurrence of "lipstick lines" by filling in creases along the border of the lips. Dr. Stephen T. Greenberg believes that restoring natural-looking volume is typically tied to the highest level of patient satisfaction. If you have considered lip augmentation treatment and would like to learn more about what options are available to you, please contact our office to schedule an appointment.
Types of Lip Augmentation
Depending on your cosmetic goals, lip augmentation can involve the use of dermal fillers, lip implants, or fat transfer to restore lost volume. These different options can range from temporary to more permanent treatments, and Dr. Greenberg can help you decide which type will be right for you:
- Lip Augmentation With Dermal Fillers: This is the least invasive form of lip augmentation, and can generally be performed in less than 30 minutes. Dermal fillers provide immediate results that can last for four to six months. There are many different types of injectable fillers to help you reach your cosmetic goals, and Dr. Greenberg can help you decide which one is right for you. Fillers have a generally low risk of complications, but temporary side effects can include redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, infection, minor discomfort, and rarely, allergic reactions.
- Lip Augmentation With Fat Transfer: This procedure uses liposuction to take unwanted fat from one area of the body transfer it to the lips. This is a great option for patients who want to achieve leaner contours in one area of the body and achieve rejuvenated lips. Because the procedure uses fat from your own body, there is no risk of rejection or allergic reaction.
During an in-depth consultation, you and Dr. Greenberg can discuss your treatment options and overall cost to help you determine which lip augmentation treatment will best meet your goals.
