Your Nose Surgery and Recovery…

Dr. Greenberg usually performs rhinoplasty procedures in his Long Island office ambulatory surgical center, with the patient being discharged shortly after the procedure. Nasal surgery can be performed either under general anesthesia or with local anesthesia depending on what needs to be done. Rhinoplasty takes about 1-2 hours and the patient usually experiences only mild discomfort when recovering. The incisions that Dr. Greenberg utilizes are completely hidden on the inside of the nose, usually with no external incisions! The underlying bone and cartilage is re-shaped giving the nose a natural contour. Many times, your nasal passage may need to be opened, in conjunction with the rhinoplasty, called septoplasty. Slight bruising and swelling may occur, but will reside in a few days. Dr. Greenberg will see you regularly post-operatively to follow-up with your progress. Usually you are bandaged for about four days, and normal activity can be started in a short period of time. Dr. Greenberg performs rhinoplasty surgery that looks natural, without an "operated on" appearance.
