Rhinoplasty Surgery and Recovery
Dr. Greenberg has two offices in New York. Rhinoplasty surgery is usually performed in his Long Island office ambulatory surgical center. You may be discharged shortly after the procedure. Nasal surgery can be performed either under general anesthesia or with local anesthesia depending on what needs to be done. Rhinoplasty takes about 1-2 hours, and the patient usually experiences only mild discomfort when recovering.
The incisions that Dr. Greenberg utilizes are completely hidden on the inside of the nose, usually with no external incisions! The underlying bone and cartilage is re-shaped giving the nose a natural contour. Many times, the nasal passage may need to be opened in conjunction with the rhinoplasty, which is called septoplasty. Slight bruising and swelling may occur but will reside in a few days.
Dr. Greenberg sees his New York rhinoplasty patients regularly for post-operative follow-ups with their progress. Patients are usually bandaged for about four days, and normal activity can be started in a short period of time. Dr. Greenberg performs rhinoplasty surgery in New York for a natural look without an "operated on" appearance.
