Breast augmentation has high satisfaction rate

Women with breast augmentation are generally the happiest with, and more excited about, their results, than those of any other cosmetic surgical procedure. In study after study, the vast majority of women who had augmentation say they are happy with their results and, in one study, an impressive 95 percent said they would definitely choose the surgery again. This is certainly consistent with the feedback I hear on a daily basis from my patients.
In my opinion, breast augmentation is one of the most advanced and easiest procedures to perform, and therefore, the safest for my patients. On May 10, 2000, the FDA approved saline breast implants for women ages 18 and over. It is definitely wise to wait until you are 18 years old before having breast augmentation. Breasts begin to develop during puberty in response to a flood of estrogen from the ovaries. The degree to which breast tissue reacts to hormones is an inherited trait and during puberty, breast growth is often erratic. Rapid growth may be followed by a period when no change is evident. Sometimes one breast grows faster than the other. For most women, the breasts eventually become similar in size, although they are seldom identical.
Saline implants have a silicone rubber shell that is inflated to the desired size with sterile saline. Saline implants have some advantages over silicone implants. Silicone implant ruptures are harder to detect. When saline implants rupture, they deflate and the results are seen almost immediately. When silicone implants rupture, the breast often looks and feels the same because the silicone gel may leak into surrounding areas of the breast without a visible difference. Silicone implants are widely used in Europe and some U.S. surgeons feel that silicone implants have a more natural look and feel than saline implants. Nevertheless, I recommend most women stick with saline implants, given they are the U.S. government's implant of choice. Most women love the results of their breast augmentation. Nowadays, there is no reason not to - breast augmentation is safe, natural, and provides beautiful results with minimal or no visible scar.
